The IMA Language Centre invites you to participate to the 2nd edition of its Autumn School: EDIMA, the Arab World Institute's School of Didactics. On the program, five days of conferences and workshops, given in Arabic, for experts, or future experts of teaching Arabic as a foreign language. Arabic language teachers, language didactics students, academics and heads of Arabic departments… , this event is for you!
This year’s conferences and workshops will focus on three main themes:
> 9:30 AM - Certification and language policies; the Arabic aggregation in France (Fouad Mlih), the role of Arabic in French diplomacy (Inès Ben Kraiem), CIMA and language policies (Tarek Abouelgamal)
> 11:00 AM - Arabic language tests: the cases of Hamza and CIMA (King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, Halimé Al Khalil, Nisrine Al Zahre, Zohra Nesrine Zenina)
> 15H00 — Designing Arabic tests today (Kristen Brustad, Mahmoud Al Batal)
> 11:00 - Online platforms for teaching Arabic (King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language)
> 15H00 — Artificial intelligence for measurement and assessment; the Dhad scale (Hanan Khalifa), Advancing Arabic Automatic Readability Assessment: Insights from the SAMER and BAREC Projects (Nizar Habash), automated evaluation of responses to items in Arabic (Salim Al Mandhari)
> 9:30 AM — Changing the world’s teaching of Arabic with AI: innovative methods (Mimi Melkonian)
> 11:00 - Developing literary and linguistic appetite with AI: perspectives and challenges (Laila Familiar)
> 15H00 — Artificial intelligence in teaching; innovative practices (Sophie Othman); examples of integrating AI into online education (Dima Audo Salam)
> 9:30 am — CIMA workshop for best practices in the development of Arabic language exam (Hanan Khalifa)

The Arabic Language Month is organized by the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language.
This set of events and training courses aims to promote the Arabic language around the world in order to train teachers, a mission that aligns with and corresponds to that of the IMA Fall School.
This edition of the «Month» will take place partly at IMA, in parallel with the Autumn School, both events addressing complementary themes and sharing some speakers.
